Pilots are required to have a specific clause written into their policies. This is a standard requirement that is readily included by most insurance companies. For the Canadian Transportation Agency to allow us to conduct our flights they require an acknowledgement by the person’s insurer of the agreement entered into by Angel Flight Alberta and the person. They also require a statement by the person’s insurer that Angel Flight Alberta has been included as an additional insured under the policy of the person. Finally they also need a statement by the person’s insurer that the additional insurance afforded to Angel Flight Alberta is primary and without right of contribution from any other insurance policy held by Angel Flight Alberta.
